CIB - Interprovincial Conference of Brazil

CIB - Interprovincial Conference of Brazil
Sr. Chiara Cazzuola
It was an historical Conference, the first in the Institute has begun for a journey of communion, sharing, and solidarity.
To understand this important and valuable experience it would be useful to retrace the steps of a journey started some 43 years ago. In the official Acts we read that since 1967 the provincials of Brazil had begun to meet, usually always with the presence of one or two General Councilors, to address issues common to all the provinces and to help find solutions. A few years later in 1970, on November 24-30 in São Paulo, the Visiting Councilor for Brazil met with all the then six provinces of Brazil for a review and exchange of ideas at the end of the extraordinary visit. At this meeting the main concern was that of sharing the experience on the usefulness and effectiveness of the visit. The discussion then developed into "Issues relating to the consecrated life in the Institute" and possible responses to emerging issues, especially in Brazil.
